Este proyecto es una exploración visual derivada del paisaje del Lago de Pátzcuaro en Michoacán durante la sequía del 2024 que afectó a la región del lago y modificó la estructura del mismo. Esta pieza es un estudio de los vestigios de la naturaleza que se hicieron visibles cuando el nivel del agua bajó, reconfigurando el paisaje. Durante ese lapso de tiempo, realicé un recorrido por el territorio, escaneando con mi cámara diferentes puntos del lago y recolectando piedras cercanas a la isla de Janitzio que anteriormente estaban cubiertas por el cuerpo de agua. A través de este registro fotográfico, realicé una construcción visual de elementos simbólicos, mediante el uso de Inteligencia Artificial promediando las características de forma, tamaño, textura y composición para formar una «nueva roca» a partir de todas ellas ligadas a una leyenda. En su interior, las piedras contienen pequeñas vetas de oro que responden a una historia de mi abuelo sobre la isla de Janitzio y su tesoro debajo de ella. Estas imágenes en esencia están ligadas a una «data» ancestral de eras que emergió por un breve momento del lago.
This is a visual exploration derivated to the landscape of Lake Pátzcuaro in Michoacán during the drought in 2024 of the lake region and modified the structure of it. This piece is a study of the vestiges of nature that became visible when the water level dropped, reconfiguring the landscape. In that period of time, I made a tour of the territory, scanning with my camera different points of the lake and collecting stones previously covered by the body of water. Through this photographic record, I made a visual construction of simbolic elements, Trough the use Artificial Intelligence averaging the characteristics of shape, size, texture and composition to form a «new rock» from all of them linked to a legend. Inside, the stones contain small veins of gold that respond to a story from my grandfather about the island of Janitzio and its treasure beneath it. This images in essence are linked to an ancestral «data» of ages that emerged a brief moment of the lake.
